Rahul & Sonia Meet Sanjay Raut to Settle the Differences over Savarkar

New Delhi: In an effort to resolve the differences over the Savarkar issue, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi met Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut in New Delhi on Wednesday. Differences over Veer Savarkar had started to threaten the relationship between the two parties. Leaders of both parties met at the at the Congress parliamentary party office.

Following this meeting, Sanjay Raut tweeted: “Met Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi today. Many important issues were also discussed in detail. Everything is fine. nothing to worry about.”

Protesting against Rahul Gandhi’s remark on Savarkar, the Shiv Sena (UBT) on Tuesday did not attend an opposition meeting called by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Following his expulsion from Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said on March 25 “My name is not Savarkar, I won’t apologise”.

Shiv Sena (UBT) was upset over the remark, which threatened the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition in Maharashtra.
