Ramdev Apologises For His ‘Sexist’ Remark

New Delhi: Baba Ramdev has expressed regrets for his recent sexist remark and has apologized.

Maharashtra State Commission for Women Chairperson Rupali Chakankar sent Ramdev an email demanding an explanation for his utterances within 72 hours. To which Ramdev responded, expressing both regrets and tendering an apology. But he claimed that his remarks were allegedly twisted out of context.

“We have received his reply to our notice…However, if there are any more objections or complaints, we shall conduct a full-fledged probe and get the full video recording of the program held last week,” said Rupali Chakankar.

A few days back, during an event at Maharashtra’s Thane, Ramdev said that women can look good in anything even when they wear nothing.

“I see everyone looks very happy. You have a happy fortune too. Those in front got a chance to wear sarees. Those at the back did not get a chance. They probably packed and brought sarees from home but did not have time to change,” Ramdev is heard saying in the video, smiling all the while.

“You look beautiful in a saree. You also look good in salwar suits, like Amruta Ji. And if like me, someone does not wear it, that also looks good,” he then added.
