New Delhi: India’s biggest telecom company Reliance Jio will launch Jio AirFiber, a wireless internet solution, on September 19. This service will be for both homes and offices. It offers impressive speed of up to 1.5 Gbps, making it ideal for activities like high-definition video streaming, online gaming, and lag-free video conferencing.
Earlier at the 2023 Annual General Meeting Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani announced the launch of Jio AirFiber on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Jio AirFiber features parental controls, support for Wi-Fi 6, and an integrated security firewall.
After it’s launch Jio AirFiber aims to reach out to the untapped market of over 200 million Indian households. Jio AirFiber is expected to be competitively priced, estimated at around Rs 6,000, possibly slightly higher due to the inclusion of a portable device unit.
Jio AirFiber distinguishes itself from Jio Fiber by utilising 5G technology to provide wireless high-speed internet access.
Jio AirFiber is a Fixed Wireless Access solution that delivers high-speed connectivity of up to 1 Gbps to both homes and offices. It accommodates multiple devices, including smartphones, PCs, tablets, smart TVs, and set-top boxes, all while maintaining top-notch internet speed.
Now Jio offering Fiber relies on wired fiber optic cables, Jio AirFiber takes a wireless approach, establishing direct connections between homes and offices through wireless signals.
