Religious Rally Turns Violent in Sambalpur; Over 10 Cops Injured

Sambalpur: A religious rally turned violent in Odisha’s Sambalpur district. During a bike rally from Dhanupali Street for Hanuman Jayanti, people pelted stones. At least 10 police personnel were injured in the attack.

According to sources, an Additional SP-ranked officer and the IIC of Dhanupali police station among others sustained injuries.

Multiple shops were set on fire and cars and bikes were damaged by the unidentified miscreants during the rally.

The injured were immediately rushed to a local hospital and 10 platoons force deployed to control the situation.
