Remembering Illustrious Biju Patnaik On His 26th Death Anniversary

Bhubaneswar: Each year on 17 April mark the death anniversary of the legendary leader and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, who is popularly known as Biju Babu.

Biju Babu was the epitome of service, sacrifice and Odia Swabhiman. All throughout his life, he would give utmost importance to his motto ‘service to mankind’.

Exactly 26 years, India lost a towering leader, who championed decentralisation of power through three-tier PRIs. He was a crusader of women empowerment, a daredevil pilot and the leader of the masses.

Biju left for his heavenly abode on April 17, 1997.
