Sexagenarian Axed To Death By Her Son In Jharsuguda

Bhanjanagar: A 62-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her son at Gajapadar village under the Tarasingi police limits of Bhanjanagar block in Jharsuguda district.

According to reports, the incident took place on Friday when the deceased, identified as Triveni Naik had a verbal exchange with her son which turned into a violent altercation.

Meanwhile, the accused son, identified as, Sana Naik has been apprehended by the local police authorities and is being interrogated.

On Friday night, Sana came back home in an inebriated condition and asked his mother for some money, which Triveni turned down. Following this, Sana got angry and initiated a verbal duel with his mother. The duel soon turned violent when Sana attacked his mother with an axe, killing her on the spot.

On being informed by the locals, police arrived at the spot, seized the body, and sent it for autopsy.

Afterward, police launched a manhunt and consequently caught hold of him.

Further investigations are underway.
