Process for Shree Lingaraj’s Rukuna Rathyatra Begins in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The annual Rukuna Rath Yatra started today at Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Ashokastami.

The trust board of Lingaraj temple has finalised the schedule for this Rath Yatra of Lord Lingaraj at a meeting that included members of the temple trust board and servitors of this 11th-century shrine.

As per the schedule, the Mangala Arati ritual of Lord Lingaraj was performed between 5 am and 5.30 am on March 29 morning. It will be followed by the Bhoga Lagi ritual at noon. The journey of the chariot will start between 3 pm and 3.30 pm.

Meanwhile, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Central Division, Suresh Chandra Dalai has announced Ashokastami as a local holiday for the Khordha district. On that day all government offices in the Khordha district will remain closed.
