Singer Samar Singh Arrested in Bhojpuri Actress Akanksha Dubey Suicide Case; Search on for Another Singer

Lucknow: Singer Samar Singh was arrested by police in Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey’s suicide case on Thursday. He was nabbed from Charms Castle Society of Nandgram police station area.

Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey was found hanging in a hotel room in Sarnath on March 26. Police had registered a case against Samar Singh, and his associate Sanjay Singh under Section 306 of IPC.

Police in Varanasi had issued a Red Corner Notice against Samar Singh and Sanjay Singh. Both are Bhojpuri singers. UP police had issued Red corner notice against both.

Hours before the actress was found dead, she went live on Instagram and was seen crying. The deceased actor’s mother Madhu Dubey in her FIR alleged that Akanksha worked with Samar for three years, but he did not pay a single penny to her.

Samar owed her Rs 3 crore and when Akanksha used to ask for it, Samar used to torture and beat her, he mother alleged. She added that Samar was harassing her whenever she tried to work with other artistes.
