Sisodia Moves Supreme Court Against His Arrest by CBI  

New Delhi: Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia approached the Supreme Court on Tuesday, challenging his arrest by CBI and the manner in which CBI is investigating the alleged liquor scam case.

The plea is expected to be mentioned before the Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud at 10.30 am for an urgent listing.

CBI arrested Sisodia on Sunday evening in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy 2021-22.

On Monday, a special court in Delhi sent him to five-day CBI custody for interrogation. The Rouse Avenue Court, while allowing the CBI to take Sisodia on remand ordered the interrogation of the AAP leader to be conducted at some place having CCTV coverage in accordance with guidelines of the Supreme Court. The said footage has to be preserved by the CBI. Sisodia has been remanded to CBI custody for a period of five days till March 4.
