Stones Pelted at Central Minister Nisith Pramanik’s Convoy in Bengal’s Cooch Behar

Kolkata: Union Minister Nisith Pramanik’s convoy was allegedly attacked by a group of TMC-supporting miscreants in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar on Saturday.

Pramanik, the Minister of State for Home and Youth Affairs and Sports, was on traveling to BJP party workers meet in Cooch Behar’s Dinhata area when his convoy faced the attack. As per reports, the miscreants pelted stones at the Central Minister’s car. The windshield of the car cracked when hit by a stone. Black flags were also shown to the minister.

BJP supporters with party flags and lathis protested in the area. They shouted “Jai Shree Ram” and sloganeered against the police. The minister stepped out of his car to pacify BJP supporters on the spot.

Pramanik alleged that the TMC was protecting the attackers. “If a central minister’s car is attacked in this manner, then think about the security of the common people in the state,” Bengal BJP spokesperson Shamik Bhattacharya said.
