Suicide Bomber’s Severed Head Found at Pakistan Mosque Blast Site

The severed head of the suspected suicide bomber involved in the blast at the mosque in Peshawar of Pakistan was found on Tuesday during the continuing rescue operation at the blast site.

It is suspected that 6 this suicide bomber blew him up inside a mosque packed with worshippers on Monday in Pakistan’s Peshawar city. The death toll in this suicide blast has risen to 93. Around 221 people were severely wounded.

According to reports, the suicide bomber was present in the front row of the praying crowd in the mosque. He blew himself up, causing the roof to collapse on the worshippers.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Mohammad Aijaz Khan told Geo TV that the blast appeared to be a suicide attack and the head of the suspected bomber was recovered at the site in Peshawar.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the suicide attack, saying it was part of a revenge attack for TTP commander Umar Khalid Khurasani who was killed in Afghanistan in August last year.

The group is related to al-Qaeda and is alleged to be involved in several terror attacks in Pakistan. In 2014, the Pakistani Taliban attacked the Army Public School (APS) in the northwestern city of Peshawar, killing at least 150 people, including 131 students.
