Sura Routray Declares of Not Contesting Elections Anymore

Bhubaneswar: Jatani MLA and Congress leader Suresh Kumar Routray, popularly known as Sura Routray has declared that he will not contest elections any more.

He added that his youngest son Manmath Routray will contest the poll from the Jatani constituency on a Congress ticket.

“I have never ‘compromised’ in the last 55 years while being in the Congress party. I have been serving the party honestly and will continue to do so till my death. My son Manmath Routray will contest the upcoming election from the Jatani Assembly Constituency as a Congress candidate,” the leader said.

Sura Routray was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly six times from the constituency in 1977 as Janata Party candidate and in 1980, 1985, 1995, 2000 and 2019 as Congress candidate.
