Thief Returns Ornaments Stolen From Temple 9 Yrs Ago, Apologises For Unholy Act

New Delhi: A thief who had stolen silver ornaments from a temple on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar nine years ago returned all of the ornaments with an apology note for his unholy action.

Reportedly, the thief left the bag ornaments, which had the stolen headgear, earrings, bracelets and a flute, at the front door of the temple and mentioned the priest Sri Debesh Chandra Mohanty. He also left an additional Rs 300 as a penance along with the ornaments, the unnamed thief mentioned in his apology note.

The note read: “During 2014, (from) a Yagna at Yagna Shala (where the ritual of Yagna takes place), I had taken the ornaments for which I faced a lot of problems during these 9 years and I surrender these,” the thief who wished to remain anonymous wrote in a note.

Worth mentioning, in May 2014, several silver ornaments of Radha-Krishna temple at Gopinathpur village in Bhubaneswar were stolen. Despite a police complaint, there was no breakthrough in the case.
