Thunderstorms & Rain Alert Issued For Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre here has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning at some places in Odisha.

The IMD forecast light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain in some areas of Puri, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur districts within the next three hours.

As per the latest bulletin, the alert has been issued at one or two places in Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda and Nuapada districts.

The weather office has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

However, there is unlikely to be any major change in maximum temperature (day temperature) at most places in Odisha during the next four to five days.
