TMC Skips Opposition meeting on Adani Row

New Delhi: While both Houses of Parliament are witnessing a ruckus over the demand for a Joint Parliamentary Probe into the Adani-Hindenburg issue, and opposition parties are trying hard to corner the government, the TMC has mysteriously preferred to stay away from the opposition unity.

Seeking a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Adani issue, the Opposition held a meeting on Tuesday. But the Trinamool Congress skipped the meeting.

Leaders of 16 opposition parties met in the Parliament complex on Tuesday morning to decide upon their future course of action to step up the demand for a JPC on the Adani issue. TMC has not yet come up with any statement to declare the reason behind its absence in this crucial opposition meeting.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with his top ministers including Pralhad Joshi, Piyush Goyal Narendra Singh Tomar, Kiren Rijiju, Anurag Thakur and Nitin Gadkari, in the Parliament today.
