Train Crash in Greece Kills Over 32; At least 85 Injured

Athens (Greece): Over thirty-two people were killed and at least 85 were injured after a passenger train and an oncoming freight train collided in northern Greece.

Multiple coaches derailed following the collision. The incident occurred at Tempe, some 380 kilometres north of Athens.

On receiving information about the accident, fire personnel reached the spot and started to rescue passengers stuck inside the coaches. The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospitals.

Passengers who received minor injuries or were unharmed were transported by bus to Thessaloniki, 130 kilometres north of the incident.

The rescue operation is still underway.
