Umesh Pal Murder Case: STF Arrests Atiq Ahmed’s Brother-in-law for Funding Him

Meerut: Special task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police has arrested  Atiq Ahmed’s brother-in-law in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case.

The accused was identified as Akhlaq Ahmed. According to reports, Akhlaq Ahmed had a key role in financing the shooters of Umesh Pal.

Earlier, the MP-MLA Court in Prayagraj sentenced mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, Dinesh Pasi, and Khan Saulat Hanif to life imprisonment in the Umesh Pal kidnapping case.

The court acquitted Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf and six others in connection with the case.

They have been brought to Prayagraj yesterday evening amidst high security from Sabarmati jail in Gujarat and Bareilly jail respectively.

Atiq and his brother Ashraf were brought back to Prayagraj in connection with the 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping and criminal conspiracy case in which both are accused.

Both brothers were lodged in the Naini Jail of Prayagraj district. The court had directed the police to produce them in the Umesh pal kidnapping case of 2006.

Umesh pal was an eyewitness in the Raju pal murder case who accused the Ahmed brothers of his kidnapping in 2006. Umesh pal was also murdered last month when he was returning from the hearing in the same kidnapping case.
