Unluckiest Lottery Player Shocked as His Rs 118 Crore Win Marred As He Didn’t Buy The Ticket He Booked

A British man, Mark Fletcher, 49, met the greatest disappointment in life as he lost the chance to win an incredible 11 million pounds (Rs 1187131281) lottery prize, only because he had not actually bought the ticket that won the prize, although he had booked the number online.

He had matched all six numbers selected for the prize. In order to verify his winnings, Fletcher contacted Lotto customer support. The woman on the other side gave him the shock of his life by saying, “You haven’t bought that ticket, have you, Mark?”.

Allwyn, the global lottery operator running the National Lottery in Britain clarified that players could save a set of numbers in their app to check against any draws. However, it does not imply a ticket purchase.

It has nothing to do with whether a player actually played the numbers or not.

In this case, Mark player did not play this set of six numbers via his online account for the draw on June 29, or indeed in any draws prior to the draw on June 29 taking place. He only booked the number on the app. He never paid up the money to buy the ticket for the number.
