Anantnag: Maintaining their calmness doctors at a hospital in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district delivered a baby through the cesarean section while an earthquake shook the Valley on Tuesday.
District’s chief medical officer commended the efforts of the medical team through a tweet that said “Emergency LSCS (lower-segment cesarean section) was going on at SDH (Sub District Hospital) Bijbehara, Anantnag, during which strong tremors of earthquake were felt. “Kudos to the staff of SDH Bijbehara who conducted the LSCS smoothly and thank god everything is alright,” the tweet added. This tweet also uploaded a video showing the medical staff completely focused on their job of delivering the baby while everything around them in the hospital was shaking because of the earthquake.

On Tuesday, an earthquake of 6.6 magnitude struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan. It caused damage and deaths in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Kashmir valley also shook so violently that residents in many areas came out of their homes in search of safety.
