Woman Assistant Engineer Nabbed While Accepting Rs 50k Bribe in Khurda Dist

Khurda: Nibedita Mohanty, the Assistant Engineer (AE) of Jatni Block in Khorda district was caught red-handed by the officials of the Odisha Vigilance while she was accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 at her residence in Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar.

She was taking this bribe from a complainant contractor to clear his pending bill towards Government constructions taken up under the Jatni Block.

The entire marked-up bribe amount was recovered from the accused AE and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches were conducted at two locations linked to Mohanty from DA angle.

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No. 16/2024 u/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.
