Woman Gang-Raped In Front Of Husband; Battles For Life At Hosp

Jharkhand: A 22-year-old married woman was raped by six people in Palamu in Jharkhand. On receiving the complaint of the matter, the police registered a case. Along with this, two accused have also been taken into custody, while raids are being conducted to arrest the others. After the complaint of the woman’s husband, the victim has been sent to MMCH Medininagar for medical examination by Satbarwa police station in-charge Rishikesh Kumar Rai.

The victim’s family members, who reached Satbarwa police station in the district, informed that the incident happened last Saturday night. The victim woman had left for her maternal home on foot after a quarrel with her in-laws. In the evening, people came to persuade her to take her back to her in-laws’ house, but the woman did not agree.

After this, the maternal parents, after persuading them, sent their daughter along with the son-in-law to the in-laws’ house. Meanwhile, the victim’s husband also called his brother-in-law’s brother to accompany him. Both the men started taking the woman on a bike.

When they reached the Bhaluahi valley, six unidentified people snatched their mobiles and bikes and beat up all three. The accused gang-raped the woman for about four hours. During this, the victim’s husband was kept hostage. After this, the accused left the victim’s husband there and then started taking the other person including the woman on the bike to another place.

Meanwhile, on seeing a car in Sadhwadih village of Manika police station, the woman started screaming. Due to this the bike got unbalanced and fell. The villagers gathered after hearing the noise.

The villagers caught the accused and beat them up. On the other hand, the other accused also escaped leaving the husband of the woman held hostage. Police were informed about the incident. Police reached the spot and arrested the two accused. At the same time, the victim’s husband reached the police station at night and narrated the incident.

Family members say that the condition of the victim is very bad. She is very scared since night. Satbarwa police have recovered a bike involved in the incident. Simultaneously, the investigation of the matter has been started.
