Woman’s Body Found Hanging in Her In-Laws’ House; Murder Suspected

Cuttack: A woman was found hanging in her in-laws’ house in Paikarapur village under Chowdwar police station limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district. The body was recovered at around 11 AM today.

The deceased was identified as Sasmita Jena.

According to sources, Chakradhara Jena married Sasmita three years ago. The couple has a 2-year-old son. However, she was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

Her in-laws informed the police and Sasmita’s parents about the incident.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and seized the body.

Sasmita’s parents lodged a written complaint at Chowdwar police station alleging their daughter was murdered.

Based on the written complaint, police have started investigation of the matter. Whether it was a murder or suicide is not ascertained yet.
