Youth Consumes Poison After Friend’s Demise in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A youth allegedly consumed poison after his friend died by suicide over a love affair-related matter in Odisha’s Balasore district.

According to reports, one Jyotirmaya Bhuyan was thrashed by some locals on March 13 over his love affair with a girl in the village. Following the incident, Bhuyan consumed poison inside his house. He died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

After the incident, Bhuyan’s close friend Jyotirmaya Jena went missing from his house. He was later found in a critical condition in a forest near Rasagobindapur. A bottle containing poison was also found near him.

He was rushed to Jaleswar Hospital and later shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital.

Jyotirmaya Bhuyan’s father on the hand has lodged a police complaint against the villagers alleging that they were responsible for the death of his son.
