Youth Hacks Father to Death for Denying to Give Money for Liquor

Deogarh: A youth allegedly stabbed his father to death for not giving money to drink liquor in Odisha’s Deogarh district.

The accused was identified as Duryodhan Pradhan of Kaunsibahal village in Deogarh district.

According to reports, the accused asked his father Ratnakar Pradhan to give him some money to participate in the New Year celebration with his friends. But his father denied giving the money on the ground that Duryodhan would spend it on the consumption of liquor.

It led to a heated argument between father and son.  As the argument escalated, the accused in a fit of rage stabbed his father with a knife. Severely bleeding in the stabbing, 70-year-old Ratnakar died on the spot.

After being informed about the incident, Deogarh police reached the spot. They arrested Duryodhan and seized the murder weapon from his house.

The police have registered a case and sent the victim’s body for post-mortem. Further probe is underway.
