Police Constable Among 13 Arrested For Robbery In Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput: The Koraput district police have arrested thirteen individuals, including a serving police constable, in connection with a daring robbery at the residence of a prominent businessman and BJD leader.

Constable Sonu Jani from the Koraput Armed Police Reserve (APR) is one of the arrested suspects. As per reports, the arrests are linked to a robbery that occurred on May 14 at the residence of businessman and BJD leader Sunil Sahu in Dungarveja.

The police have successfully recovered a significant amount of gold and silver jewellery from the possession of the arrested individuals. Additionally, another person suspected of purchasing the stolen goods was also arrested.

Reports suggest that the gang gained entry into Sunil Sahu’s residence by breaking the lock. They further targeted a teacher residing in a rented accommodation within the same building, threatening the occupant at gunpoint and stealing gold and cash.

While thirteen arrests have been made, a manhunt is underway to locate two remaining gang members who are currently absconding.
