45-Year-Old Dies In Accident, Family Donates His Eyes

Bargarh: Family of a 45-year-old person, Rohit Kumar Panda (45) who was killed in a road accident at Khedapali near Bhatli area in Bargarh on Monday late at night has donated the eyes of the deceased.

The accident took place late Monday night near Bhatli Chhak while Rohit was returning from his workplace.

A hospital official said that the family of Rohit was counselled and explained the procedure in detail so that they could take an informed decision.

Despite the unbearable grief, the family has decided to donate the eyes of Rohit. His corneas were donated to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bargarh.

According to Rohit’s Brother Tunu, somebody else could use his brother’s eyes to see the world.
