The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had last week authorised Jeypore Airport to conduct commercial airline operations in accordance with the regional connectivity programme. Jeypore is the first state-owned airport in Odisha to have a license to conduct flights.
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the airport, which is located 500 miles southwest of Bhubaneswar and 33 km northwest of Koraput town, will promote regional growth and tourism.
