Bhubaneswar Boils Over: Fierce Clash Erupts, 8 Arrested As Cops Probe KBN Ties

Bhubaneswar: A property dispute turned violent in Bhubaneswar’s Airport Square, leaving two youths injured and eight individuals arrested. The incident stemmed from a disagreement over ‘Khatti’ (property division) allegedly involving Pradip Singh and the victims, Siba Moharana and Rakesh (Raka).

Bhubaneswar Zone 2 ACP, Girija Chakraborthy, revealed that both victims, Siba and Raka, have a history of pending cases. After assaulting Singh, they were ambushed by local youths from Kedarpali and Forest Park areas while returning.

“We have arrested eight persons from both sides, and two separate cases have been registered,” stated the senior police official. Following the attack, the culprits fled to Bhanjanagar in a car. Quick police intervention led to the interception of the vehicle, resulting in the immediate arrest of four individuals. Subsequently, four more suspects involved in the incident were nabbed.

The senior cop highlighted that three of the arrested individuals are allegedly associated with the notorious KBN group. Ongoing verification processes aim to confirm these affiliations, with the possibility of additional arrests in the pipeline. The investigation into the incident is actively underway.
