Body Of Missing Bolangir Bank Official Fished Out By Rescue Team

Bolangir: The body of the missing bank official of Bolangir district, named Dibya Ranjan Mishra has been fished out by the rescue team on Saturday.

According to sources, Mishra, an Agriculture Officer of Punjab National Bank at Barpali in Bargarh district, went missing from near a bridge over Ong River under Loisingha police limits of Bolangir district on Wednesday.

However, his phone got disconnected after around 7 PM and the family members did not get any response.

On being informed, locals searched for the officer but in vain. After a frantic search, some locals found Mishra’s motorbike and footwear on the bridge yesterday evening.

The rescue team, who was engaged in the operation, fished out the body this afternoon and identified him. However, it is yet to be ascertained whether the officer had committed suicide by jumping off a bridge or being murdered.

Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the matter after getting the CDR report of the deceased. The body has been handed over to the family members of Mishra after the conduction of the post-mortem here.
