Cuttack: Bollywood actor Naseer Khan, implicated in the Fine India chit fund case in Odisha, has been granted conditional bail by the Orissa High Court.
The visually impaired actor, also co-producer of the film ‘Shadow,’ stands accused of defrauding depositors invested in Fine India, a chit fund company in Balasore district.
Currently held in Jharpada Special Jail, Bhubaneswar, following arrest by the Enforcement Directorate, Naseer Khan had previous run-ins with the law, having been arrested by the Odisha Crime Branch in 2009 and later by the CBI in connection with the multi-crore cheating case.
Despite resigning from Fine India before the scandal unfolded, Naseer remains entangled in allegations of fund misappropriation for the production of ‘Shadow.’
The chit fund company reportedly transferred funds to Mumbai via a Kanpur-based firm, subsequently closing its operations in Balasore.
