Puri: The Odisha unit of the Congress party held a rally in Puri on Sunday, calling for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar and all gates of the Srimandir temple. The rally was led by OPCC President Sarat Pattanayak, with the participation of many party workers and leaders.
Pattanayak expressed disappointment with the state government’s reluctance to open all four gates of Srimandir, stating that the Congress party would escalate its protest if the government did not meet their demands before the month of Kartik.
The BJP also criticized the state government’s handling of the matter. They pointed out that the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee had previously requested the reopening of the Ratna Bhandar back in August. However, it appeared that the committee’s focus had shifted towards issues like dress codes, rather than taking concrete steps to reopen the Ratna Bhandar.
Both political parties are urging action on the matter of reopening the Ratna Bhandar and all temple gates, highlighting the need to address this issue promptly.
