Creating Fake Profiles On Social Media Can Land You In Jail: Odisha Police

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police on Friday apprised the general public through a Tweet that creating fake profiles on social media platforms or impersonating amounts to cybercrime.

The State police headquarters informed the public to report such matters on cybercrime.gov.in. The Tweet read:

Making #FakeProfile of anyone or impersonation on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. is cybercrime and punishable offence. You may register such cybercrimes to nearest police station or online at https://t.co/urrBo2bPge . Beware and Be Cybersafe. pic.twitter.com/QuG2vRY9ai
