Crime Branch To Probe Model Soumya Panigrahi’s Death Case

Bhubaneswar: Taking a year back alleged suicide matter into consideration, the Odisha Crime Branch will now investigate the mysterious death of aspiring model Soumya Ranjan Panigrahi.

The investigation body has given charge of the case as per the direction of the Orissa High Court.

As per the reports, the Orissa High Court has directed Crime Branch to probe the case and complete the investigation within 3 months.

According to reports, Soumya committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his room at Housing Board Colony in the Nandan Vihar area under Infocity police limits in Bhubaneswar last year.

The deceased, a said budding actor left a suicide note before ending his life where he accused his said girlfriend, Sonali Nanda, a less popular Odia singer the reason behind his extreme step.

The suicide note read that Soumyaranjan committed suicide as he was upset after learning that his long-time girlfriend, Sonali was cheating on him and having an affair with someone else.

On that note, the deceased also cited that he is taking such an extreme step over Sonali’s changing behaviour. As he was in a relationship with her for several months and wanted to marry her, Soumyaranjan became depressed over learning about Sonali’s alleged affair with another guy.

Following this, Soumyaranjan hanged himself to death in his house. He, in the note, was also allowed to donate his body organs post his death.
