Dhamnagar Bypoll: 22.36% Voting by 11 AM

Dhamnagar: As voting for the Dhamnagar bypoll continues, it has been reported that the voter turnout until 11 AM was 22.36 percent.

Voting for the Dhamnagar by-election started at 7 am and will continue till 7 pm.

A total of 2,38,417 voters will exercise their right to vote. Among them, there are 1,23,038 male voters, while the number of female voters stands at  1,15,346.

While voting is currently on in 252 polling booths, strict security measures have been taken in 10 sensitive booths. In addition, there are 15 model booths and 5 pink booths in the constituency.

On the other hand, a polling officer deployed for the voting process of the Dhamnagar byelection died before the start of the polling process. The deceased officer was identified as Natabar Munda. Informing about his sudden death, Bhadrak district collector, Siddheswar Bandal said, Natabar was scheduled to be the polling officer of Booth No. 139 of the constituency.

As per the collector, Natabar had suddenly become ill yesterday. He was immediately shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where he breathed his last during treatment.
