Dharmendra Sahoo Death: Police Quiz Journalist Akshay Nayak, Seizes His Phone

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Sunday quizzed journalist Akshay Nayak and seized his cell phone in connection with the death case of Zilla Parishad member Dharmendra Sahoo.

According to police sources, Nayak appeared before the Bhubaneswar DCP office for interrogation over a viral audio clip of the deceased leader. Earlier, the Commissionerate Police had issued a notice asking Nayak to depose in the case.

Sources said that Dharmendra Sahoo had spoken with Akshay over the telephone moments before his death. He was questioned in connection with the audio and his phone was seized for further probe. The BJP released the audio clip at a press conference on September 28.

Reportedly, Sahoo was found hanging at his residence here on September 24. His post-mortem report revealed that he died due to asphyxiation and there was no other injury on his body.
