Elderly Man Trampled To Death By Jumbo In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: An elderly man was trampled to death by an elephant at Hindol Range of Dhenkanal Forest Division in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Tankadhara Bhoi, a resident of Jatan Nagar village in Gulehi panchayat under Hindol Range.

According to reports, the incident took place when Tankadhara had gone to attend nature’s call in the wee hours.

Suddenly, a jumbo attacked him by picking him up with its trunk and dashed him to the ground. Following this, he sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.

On being informed, forest officials reached the spot and recovered the body, and send it for post-mortem to a nearby hospital.
