Rourkela: In a shocking incident at Rourkela National Institute of Technology (NIT) College, four individuals were caught attempting to cheat during a non-teaching staff exam. The suspects – Puneet Singh, Gaurav Chauhan, Manish Kumar, and Sunil – all hailing from Haryana, were caught in the act by NIT security personnel.
Upon suspicion, the NIT security swiftly intervened and handed the accused over to the local authorities. The college administration’s prompt complaint led to the immediate arrest of the fraudulent aspirants by the police. The arrested individuals were found in possession of incriminating evidence such as mobile phones and electronic devices.
Rourkela DSP Pushpanjali Lingi confirmed the incident and highlighted that this was the first-ever instance of exam fraud within the esteemed institute. The Registrar’s complaint triggered the police action, resulting in the arrest of the culprits following a thorough investigation.
