Flood on danger signal in Naraj: 12 Lakh cusecs of flood water flows through Mundali, 4 districts in High alert

Floodwaters are above the danger mark in Naraj. The Special Relief Commissioner informed that the peak flow of the flood is now going on in Mundali. Now 12 lakh 1 thousand 426 cusecs of water is flowing in Mundali every second. Water is being drained through a total of 40 gates in Hirakud.

Now 5 lakh 97 thousand 92 cusecs of water is entering in Hirakud every second while 6 lakh 79 thousand 638 cusecs of water is being discharged.

The current water level in Dharamkud is 626 decimal 56 meters. After the water was released from Munduli yesterday between 12:00 and 12:00 pm, flood water has already started entering Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri. The SRC informed us that the water flow will continue till this evening. Brahmani, Baitarani. Water in Sarnarekha, Jalka, and Devi River is flowing at danger level. Therefore, the flood situation in coastal Odisha is getting complicated.

Gap has been created in two parts of Mahanadi. Damage has been caused in Makarara in Puri and Rajua in Khurda. A total of 49 blocks and 175 village panchayats have been affected by the flood. 237 villages are still under water blockade. 707 houses have been destroyed. 24 thousand hectares of agricultural land have been damaged.
