Goods Train Derails In Odisha’s Ganjam, Stalls Passenger Train Movement

Ganjam: A goods train derailment near Chhatrapur railway station in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Saturday evening disrupted passenger train movement on the Berhampur-Khurda route.

The incident occurred around 7 pm when three wagons of the mineral-laden train jumped the tracks. The loco pilot promptly stopped the train to prevent further mishap.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. Railway officials rushed to the site for inspection and to oversee recovery efforts. The cause of the derailment is yet to be determined.

Technical teams are working diligently to re-rail the wagons and restore passenger train services on the route at the earliest. Passengers are advised to check with railway authorities for any delays or cancellations.
