Rayagada: A goods train reportedly derailed near Ambadola in the Rayagada district of Odisha on Saturday. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries, although four wagons of the train derailed.
Reports suggest that the incident took place on a dedicated track connecting the Ambadola railway station with the Vedanta plant at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district.
The accident had no disruptions to the regular railway traffic since it occurred on specialized tracks. The authorities were promptly informed and swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
It is important to highlight a significant tragedy that unfolded on June 2 at Bahanaga Bazar in the Balasore district of the state. Regrettably, this incident claimed the lives of 291 individuals and left over 1100 people injured.
