HC Denies To Interfere In Srimandir’s Second Boundary Wall Case

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has declined to interfere in the proposed second boundary wall construction of Sri Jagannath temple in Puri.

The division bench of Chief Justice S Muralidhar and Justice M S Raman observed this hearing a petition filed by Dilip Kumar Barala.

The petitioner had claimed that petitions were filed in High Court and the Supreme Court opposing the Srimandir Parikrama Project.

The court said that there is no need to interfere in the case as the report submitted by the National Monument Authority shows that the second boundary wall does not come up within the prohibited zone of the Srimandir Parikrama Project.

The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) had in its reply had directed the Odisha government to undertake developmental projects around the Srimandir consulting with it.

However, the state government has not taken approval from the ASI for the construction of the second boundary wall. Besides, the second boundary work has not been planned under the Srimandir Parikrama Project.
