Historic Cuttack Bali Yatra Concludes Today On A High Note

Cuttack: The historic Bali Yatra, which is organised every year in memory of the rich maritime history of Odisha, concluded on Thursday.

Lakhs of people visited the annual festival, which commenced on November 8 at the bank of the Mahanadi River.

On the last day, traders reduced the price of items to attract more buyers before putting their shutters down.

This year’s Bali Yatra holds major significance as it was organised after a gap of two years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Around 2,000 stalls were set up at the Bali Yatra, of which as many as 420 stalls belong to the national level Pallishree Mela showcasing products ranging from handlooms, and handicrafts to rural homemade spices and household articles from different districts of Odisha.

It is pertinent to mention here that the fair was supposed to end on November 16. Considering the footfall and excitement among people, Cuttack district administration extended the duration of the fair by a day.
