Huge Cache Of Fake Foreign Liquor Seized In Ganjam, Two Held

Ganjam: An illegal liquor factory has been busted by Bada Bazar Police in Berhampur of Ganjam district in two separate raids on Friday.

According to sources, two persons have been arrested in this connection. They are identified as Akash Behera and Muna Sabat of the same locality.

Acting on a tip-off, the team of the Ganjam Excise Department sleuths along with the local police conducted a raid near the Pokudi bandha Chaka area and seized fake foreign liquor worth lakhs of rupees from the spot. They also seized materials used for making fake liquor.

Sources said that country-made foreign liquor is mainly being smuggled from neighbouring states following its high demand across the district in the wake of upcoming festivals.

The cops have seized over 1000 bottles of foreign liquor from the spot. Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab the main accused.
