Humane-Shriya Marital Tussle Worsens As Lawyer Alleges Forced Conversion Attempt

Cuttack: Troubles ascended for famous Ollywood singer Humane Sagar today after his wife Shriya Mishra accused him of being a convert today.

Shriya had previously brought serious allegations of torture and mental harassment against her husband Humane yesterday.

Humane’s wife reportedly visited Cuttack DCP Pinaki Mishra on Jan 18 and claimed that her husband had been subjecting her to physical and mental torture for the past few weeks.

Speaking to the media, Shriya’s lawyer claimed that Humane, being a practising Christian, had been pressurising Shriya to convert to Christianity.

“Humane had been putting pressure on Shriya to go to church and burn candles. He used to beat Shriya repeatedly many times in an intoxicated condition. She was being questioned about her visit to the Jagannath Temple,” stated Shriya’s lawyer, citing that he was torturing her since she had just given birth to a girl.

The lawyer further asserted that despite efforts being made to resolve the family dispute amicably, no outcome was achieved. As a result, Shriya reported the incident to the police.

Meanwhile, Shriya’s father also accused his son-in-law Humane of the same thing.

“The fact that Humane was a Christian was known to us. Even yet, we accepted our daughter’s proposal to marry him because they were in a loving relationship. However, we weren’t aware that he would coerce our daughter into joining his religion,” Shriya’s father claimed, “Our daughter has endured physical and mental abuse.

Cuttack DCP Pinaki Mishra ordered the Mahila Police to look into Shriya’s accusations yesterday. As a result, Humane and Shriya both appeared for counselling at the Mahila police station, Cuttack.

The couple is currently residing separately due to their marital conflict, as per sources. While the singer resides in Cuttack’s CDA Sector 6, his wife has been staying with her father in Balasore for a few months now.
