Man Stabs Wife To Death With Scissors in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by a pair of scissors used as the murder weapon by her husband at Hinjiligadia village under Khunta police station in Mayurbhanj district. A scuffle between the couple because of a marital tussle led to the murder of the woman.

The deceased has been identified as Suhagi Murmu, wife of the accused, Madhusudan Murmu.

The incident took place last evening when Suhagi returned from her father-in-law’s house. The duo had a verbal spat over some trivial issues.

Following this, Madhusudan, in a fit of rage, stabbed his wife’s abdomen with a pair of scissors, critically injuring her. Immediately after committing the crime, Madhusudan fled the spot.

Hearing screams of Suhagi, neighbours barged into her house and saw her lying in a pool of blood.

They rushed her to a nearby hospital but doctors declared Suhagi ‘ brought dead’.

Meanwhile, acting on the plaint of the deceased’s parents, local police nabbed the accused. The police investigation is on.

This heinous crime makes us recall the gruesome murder of Delhi’s Shraddha Walkar, who was brutally killed by her boyfriend, Aaftab Poonawala. After killing Shraddha, Aaftab allegedly chopped her body into 35 pieces and disposed of it over the next 18 days.
