Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha, Nikunja Bihari Dhal, has announced that the final voter list for the upcoming General Elections in 2024 will be made available on January 5, 2024. This announcement came during a meeting with representatives of various political parties in Bhubaneswar, where the meticulous preparation of the voter list was discussed.
During the meeting, CEO Dhal revealed that in accordance with the directives from the Election Commission of India, the draft voter list for Odisha will be released on October 27. These lists will be accessible at the deputy collectors’ offices across all districts, and political parties will be able to obtain copies from there.
To ensure accuracy and inclusivity, citizens can submit their complaints and suggestions regarding the draft voter lists between October 27 and December 9. Any errors identified in the lists will be rectified by December 26.
In a special effort to incorporate young voters aged 18 to 19 into the voter list, the Election Commission will launch a drive on November 5, 11, 19, and 25. This initiative aims to encourage greater participation among this age group in the democratic process.
