Puri: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, celebrating 100 days of BJP governance, claimed that his administration has fulfilled election promises within a set timeframe. At a special event in Puri, he outlined the government’s commitment to building a “Viksit Odisha” by 2036.
Highlighting significant initiatives, Majhi mentioned the opening of four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and the unlocking of the Ratna Bhandar. A Rs 500 crore corpus fund has been created for temple management, alongside a Rs 200 crore fund for preserving Odia identity.
Majhi also announced the launch of Subhadra Yojana to provide financial aid to women, a promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP government has taken strong steps against corruption, with 71 cases registered in 100 days and 58 officials, including high-ranking officers, arrested.
He emphasised that the BJP was voted into power following dissatisfaction with the previous BJD regime, and his government is addressing people’s grievances through regular outreach programs, including grievance cell sessions across different regions of the state.
Agriculture support has been enhanced with Rs 5,000 crore allocated for paddy procurement at Rs 3,100 per quintal, and the CM Kisan Yojana portal launched to aid farmers. Industrial development is also on the agenda, with plans for three semiconductor units, FDI Parks, and 11 MSME Parks.
Majhi revealed that the Awas Plus portal is operational to ensure free housing for eligible citizens under the PM Awas Yojana. Meanwhile, 800 PM Shree houses and transforming government schools into centres of excellence are in progress.
On healthcare, Majhi promised the introduction of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and highlighted the Gopabandhu Aarogya Yojana, aimed at supporting treatment for life-threatening diseases.
