Odisha: Bomb Hurled By Uncle Claims One Life

Puri: In a freak incident reported from Naibhansar village, Harirajpur panchayat, in the Delang block of Puri district on Tuesday, a man was killed in a bomb explosion.

Five country-made bombs were reportedly hurled at the victim, namely Tapan Das by his uncle, identified as Bidyadhar Das.

Tapan was severely wounded by the bomb explosions and subsequently succumbed to the wounds.

After the incident, his uncle Bidyadhar Das has supposedly fled the area.

According to reports, yesterday, after a dispute between the two families over a prior animosity, Tapan’s brother filed a case against Bidyadhar at the Harirajpur Police Station. Bidyadhar was upset about it and threw at least five bombs at Tapan’s home.

When the bombs were thrown, Tapan’s daughter was playing outside; he hurried to save his daughter and was killed by the explosion. He was taken in a severe condition to the AIIMS in Bhubaneswar, where he passed away while receiving medical care.
