Odisha CM Offers Condolences Over Mayurbhanj Accident, Announces ₹3 Lakh Ex-Gratia

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Wednesday, announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh each for the families of the six individuals who lost their lives in a truck overturn incident during heavy rain in the Mayurbhanj district. The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families.

Additionally, Naveen Patnaik has directed the authorities to ensure proper medical treatment for the nine individuals injured in the accident. He expressed his wishes for their swift recovery. The unfortunate incident occurred in the Dwarasuni ghat area on National Highway-49, and the injured have been admitted to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.

The overturned truck was transporting lights and other equipment valued at lakhs of rupees, belonging to Dhauli Gananatya, a prominent Odia jatra group.
