Odisha Deputy CM’s Escort Van Hits 2 Schoolchildren in Puri, 1 Critical

Puri: Two school students were injured when a police escort van of Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida struck them in the Sorisiapada area under Gop block in Puri district on Wednesday. The children were immediately taken to the Gop Community Health Centre for treatment.

One of the injured, a girl, was later transferred to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar as her condition worsened.

The incident occurred while Parida was visiting Nimapara for an event. The locals, unsure of which vehicle caused the accident, promptly rushed the children to the nearby health centre.

Deputy CM Parida visited the injured children at the hospital and later stated, “By God’s grace, both students are stable. One has been sent to SUM Hospital for further treatment.”
